Greystone Bed & Breakfast
The house was built in 1910 as a Sears 'Craftsman' house with inset china cabinets, high beamed ceilings and lots of interesting nooks & crannies. It is tucked away between the Kitsilano & Shaughnessy neighbourhoods both of which provide safe walking adventures with sprawling estates, landscaped gardens, beach access and wide boulevards.
This location is a convenient 20 minute walk to Granville Island and 30 minutes to downtown Vancouver. For those who prefer public transit there is a bus stop just 2 minutes from the front door which will take you to Stanley Park and the North Shore Seabus.
Graham & Lee Laxton have lived in this home for 34 years raising their family with several 'four footed' additions including our dog, Maddie, who is currently our not so 'fur'ocious watchdog. Lee is third generation Vancouver while Graham has enjoyed all Vancouver has to offer for over 50 years. He recently retired from managing Vancouver's premier private tennis club - so 'service' is second nature (please excuse the pun!)
"Our home is yours to enjoy. We will help you with travel tips, local information, sage advice and the odd terrible joke (or not) as you wish."
The Greystone has two rooms each with an ensuite bathroom, TV and queen-sized bed. The Kitsilano Room faces a quiet tree-lined street while the Shaughnessy Room has a south-facing balcony with garden access and a whirlpool bathtub. In addition, there is the Rose Garden Suite with two bedrooms (sleeps six), sitting room, full kitchen facilities, TV, private entrance and garden access. Perfect for family visits!
There are dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance including Romanian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Italian.
All rooms have free wi-fi and plenty of free street parking for your convenience.
Graham's breakfasts are legendary with lots of fresh fruit, freshly baked pastries, and a daily hot entree. You will not go hungry!!
